Old Southern Dining Room

The "Old Southern Dining Room" is the third room in my "Old Southern" homes series, which represents the typical grand homes from a bygone era in the United States history. The two previous designs in the series are the "Old Southern House Entry" and the "Old Southern Patio".  The fourth room is the "Old Southern Bedroom". With the exception of the patio, I tried to re-create the rooms as closely to the interiors of that era as possible. With the patio, I took the liberty to deviate from that era a bit.
As for the rest of my Southern homes series, we know there aren't many pieces available to convey the true character of that period, so I make due with what is available and still capture the spirit of those times. Actually none of the three period pieces, the chairs, sideboards and console tables, with the exception of the plantation painting, are American pieces but stem from Italy and France. Yet they have similar characteristics as those American pieces from the Federal period (originally Adam) designs  so that they fit perfectly, in my humble opinion. Actually the painting over the mantle, if I interpret it correctly, portrays empress "Sissy" of Austria, but I could be mistaken. I choose it because it just happens to fit the design perfectly.

Thank you very much , Mspr, for your comment! Apparently we both have a love for the marvelous furniture designs of past generations. As for my Southern homes series, we both know there aren't many pieces available to convey the true character of that period, so I make due with what is available and still capture the spirit of those times. I just, got. Funded $6864 working off my notebook this-month,, and if you think that's cool, my ex-wife has twin toddlers and made over 7985 bucks her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less …See Here. ========= http://www.CareerPlus90.com

Thank you Deborah and Ayudewi! I am very flattered, Ayudewi, that you compare me to Daisy, for I admire and enjoy her designs greatly, especially the Tuscany series. I look for her designs on a daily basis, but I will never match her speed and skill and imagination. I must confess that I  checked her dinner design to see what dinner plates and glasses she used, because I happen to love her style and taste.  It resembles mine in many ways.  I did, however, extensively  research the history of  furniture design (I used to write for the home section of a magazine for almost ten years)  and developed a special  love for it. I'm just sorry that roomstyler doesn't carry more period pieces, so I make do with what they have.
