close up situation

Trouble in the bungalow. Parrot's escaped out the cage, cat's very hungry, owner's passed out on sofa and the poor dog's very scared of what might happen next. Photo used for outdoor scenery is of The forest of Marielund, Kolding, Denmark by S. Juhl found in Wikimedia Commons.

Oh, that reminds me, while living in New Orleans, I used to go to the nine churches on Good Friday with friends... Was a nice thing to do. ...

Thank you Russ, for your sentiments on my house in the woods. To tell you the truth , I didn't think  I'd be getting that many votes. But we all know that winning a contest is an almost totally unpredictable situation each time. Frankly , I had expected yours and a few other excellent designs  to get the numbers of votes I got, especially when these people put a lot of work and skill into it. Yet, I think it is a good thing when there are so many different winners, as has been the case lately, with the possible exception of Daisy.

Thank you again.  You are always so kind, beyond words. Wishing you a Happy Easter, Lydia

Thank you, Russ, for your comments on my page. Personally, I think YOU deserved to be higher up there with your forest competition design, which I love. But you are right, there were quite a few excellent designs that deserved a much higher spot. I was surprised to do as well as I did, to tell you the truth.  I think RS voters can be so fickle that you never know what will win and what not. There were a number of designs which I absolutely loved and thought they would win or do a lot better but in the end they  didn't.  Oh well....

Thank you Lydia! Sorry I brought up an unpleasant memory, but not the case here. That bird has known for a long time how clumsy this cat is. When the opportunity presented itself he got out to challenge the cat, swooping up and down around the room and causing the cat to break many things you see on the table and mantle before the owner got up and stopped it. The hapless feline was banned to the kitchen, the crafty bird was very proud of himself and the worried dog was much relieved.:-)

I think you got a real winner there! Very exquisite design, however, the kitty reminds me of a bird sitting situation long ago, when I was supposed to care for my friends two birds, but circumstances caused me to temporarily hand the task to my mother, who had several cats. Unfortunately, mother wasn't equipped to handle the task and the birds fell victim to the cats. My attempt to replace the birds(same size, color, looks) failed, as the owners immediately knew that these birds were not their own.

You just described the creative process. I think that´s how it is with every art form. More often than not it´s like you´re being controlled by something else then yourself and you end up with something entirely different then you intended in the beginning.

I guess, but It's not what I feel like I'm doing. I get a simple basic idea and when I start, each new thing guides me to the next. When I'm finished, it seems to have created it itself.  It's been the pattern of my life in all things I've done.:-)

If you design then you are a designer even if you don´t do it professionally...right?
