Honeymoon Villa in Thailand

Boy oh boy has a lot changed over the years since Gemma and Charlie were next door neighbors on Sycamore Street. It used to be that they’d spend a good part of their days, especially during summer breaks, antagonizing one another. Charlie teased Gemma endlessly about her braces, just as she would tease him about his lisp. Many a day he would sneak up behind her and yank her pigtails. Oh how she hated that. It usually lead to a long bout of him ducking and dodging while she’d chase him all around the neighborhood. Even throwing acorns at him in some instances. This is not to say that Gemma didn’t know how to stir up trouble too. Like the time she took a shovel to Charlie’s snow fort. He toiled over that fort for 6 hours until he got it just the way he wanted it. It took Gemma less than 6 minutes to destroy it. Well needless to say, it was all out war from that point, until Gemma and Charlie started to see each other differently in their sophomore year of high school. The couple kept their new-found attraction and consequently, relationship, from their friends and family. Although, not one of them would ever believe that these two would ever be anything more than sworn enemies. Each went off to different colleges after graduation. Gemma to NYU and Charlie to USF. They had agreed to remain exclusive and faithful and proudly, both had honored that throughout their time away at college. Though the distance was anything but easy, the couple spent as much time together as their studies would allow on the phone and web-camming. Twice a year, during school breaks, Charlie and Gemma would meet and spend a whole day and night together before tearfully going on to their parents’ homes for the holidays. Charlie’s family moved from Sycamore Street to Arizona right after his graduation from high school. So the families were no longer neighbors and of course, that meant that they would not have those opportunities to steal some happy moments together in secret, during their visits home. But every moment that they did get, they loved and cherished to the fullest. While in school, each had taken a course in World Cultures and decided that one day, they’d visit Thailand together. Well here they are on their honeymoon in the world renown Phuket Pearl Resort, called, “The Slate." Although elated for them, no one back home can believe that “Brace-face” and “The Horse Lisperer,” (names which they gave each other long ago), have found love and have gotten hitched. Keeping everyone out of the loop, including their parents, until they started to make actual wedding plans and announce their engagement seemed like the right thing to do in order to avoid all of the outside opinions and teasing from others. It’s almost as if, once Gemma’s braces were taken off and Charlie overcame his lisp with the help of a Speech Therapist, that the two saw something in each other that they had been overlooking for so many years. Now here, in a place that they spoke about many times, the couple are returning from a trek to watch the sun rise. They arrived at the resort just two hours ago and figured since they were still wide awake with excitement, that they’d stay up to watch the sun come up over the lush, green mountains. As you can see, Charlie and Gemma are on their way back to this beautiful villa and they will be happy to see that breakfast is waiting for them. After that, they’ll lower the drapes and catch a few zzzzzs before heading off to their first Thai adventure. One of many, that they have planned for these two weeks. Just like the morning sun begins a new day, this wonderful couple who is so in love and the best of friends is beginning a new life together as husband and wife. Congratulations Charlie and Gemma!

Thanks so very much, Lifandus. I'm happy that you enjoyed the story that materialized in my mind while creating this honeymoon retreat.

Amazing design, and amazing story! I also find a lot of joy in creating stories for my rooms as well. Stories like yours and mine are like interpretations of the design. While one person might think of this room as a luxurious hotel spot for a couple looking for a way to get away from the kids, you might have interpreted it as a honeymoon! I'm looking forward to seeing and reading more from you! !) <3

Thanks, Conchy. I'm happy that you enjoy them both. Creative writing is another major passion. So just like with designing, I let the stories develop as I go. As the design flourishes, so does the story. I have forgotten, more than once, that if I return to edit a design, that I have to reattach the story. On a few of my older designs, I forgot to copy the story before my recent edits and therefore lost my story. I can remember the gist of them, but can't remember all of the details and names. So I'm trying to give them a bit more time to come back to me before I repost them. It's so funny that you popped up today, Conchy. Not an hour after thinking, "Hmm . . . I haven't seen Conchy around in a while," there you were in an email announcement stating that you liked and commented on a design. I thank you for your continued support and encouragement. It means a lot.

Ugh. How did I miss those? It's driving me batty because something is still there that I thought I deleted. Now I'll have to wait until the contest is over to remove them.

Thanks so much, Marocco. Coincidentally, I have said to myself, the same thing about your work. Once I became aware of you and started viewing your profile, I got a feel for your style. So now when I see your work I know it's yours before checking the name. You're a fantastic designer.

Thanks so much, Daisy. I went into thinking I was going to be more reserved in my styling than usual. But once I got started and a story formulated about who was staying in this villa, I just couldn't hold back. So I rolled with it. :D
