Design 433 Canyon Inspired Living

The tall, narrow canyons of the southwest are formed by layers of stone in a myriad of colors. They are the inspiration for this room, complimented by sandy beige walls and orange ceramic tile. Add to that a western decor reflecting the spirit of the region, this earth-toned room pays homage to the beauty of the southwest canyons I have been to many, many times! The photograph is actually of Monument Valley, on the Navajo reservation in the northeast corner of the state, and is an absolutely beautiful, wild land of stone, spirituality and ancient traditions of the native people who still live there.

Gorgeously done, Daisy! I love how it mirrors and even becomes a type of canyon on its own <333

Thanks everyone! I wanted to capture the elements of the canyon IN the design not just scenery of a canyon or a picture of a canyon....but make the room reflect the characteristics of the canyon. Glad you like it!

In the winter, the desert nights can be rather cold so even though this is the southwest where the sun seems to shine endlessly,  night fires are not uncommon.
