Ohh I just understand now why my design disappear of the contest orange carpet, especially that I saw it too late. I thought it was my fault... the next time I will be more vigilant with the template ;)
Great design in any case !
So let 's start over and we 'll keep on designing !!! <3 and : Dont let the behaviour of other people destroy your inner peace D.L.
Aaaah, it's all got a bit crazy today, lol, but I am smiling - thank you for your encouragement and comments - I truly appreciate them and I am trying to not let frustrations and unfairness take me over. I love being part of a creative community and learning from the other designers here. It's all silly internet points in the end and it's the designing that I love. I probably shouldn't have been so catty about the definition of beams being explained to me in the contest thread though.... but I couldn't help myself. =)
I liked this design some days ago and now I find that it was taken down from the contest, as mine.
I liked your design days ago, now i have to comment on it : How good is it, that somebody explained us what beams are, isn't it ? Hahahahaaa... For my opinion, its a shame that good and creative designers like you must go to such crazy discussions :( I absolutly agree with Lydia : Just ignore individuals who upset you !!! I am looking forward to your next design <3
BTW, you are a good designer, so stick with it!!! You never know where it will lead you, especially if you are on the young side.
LB, I agree with you on the designs that barely show a sliver of the orange carpet, as well as your (and my arguments about the beams, since today they come in simulated wood materials that can be attached and removed very easily from the ceilings). As you can see, getting into an argumentative dialogue with Th.... is getting you nowhere and will only upset you. Just ignore individuals who upset you, and go on to the next contest. If in the future you have any doubt about what can and can't be done in a contest, ask Nico to be sure. But I wouldn't let one person upset me to the point where you deprive yourself of a hobby that brings you so much pleasure. If you study the contest winner list, you'll see there are many competent designers who rarely win (myself included) and may ask themselves "What for?" but remember, it is for YOUR enjoyment. I look at those of my designs that I love often for the sheer pleasure of it.
@lydiaenderlebell It's been getting more and more frustrating lately... i keep reminding myself this is all for fun and to let it go =)
BTW, your design is beautiful!!!
I saw your comment on the Forum, and it was probably removed (as was mine because of the architraves and a few other designers' work as well) because of the beams on the ceiling. There is one member of the community who is acting as the contest "police", flagging the designs which supposedly do not adhere to the rules and urging Nico to remove them. I feel for you but you are not the only one with this complaint. Frankly, I do not consider the addition of beams or architraves as "changing the structure" since nowadays you can buy "fake" beams and architraves and simply glue them on, which means you are not making a "structural" change at all.
Wonderful as usual !!
