Finnish design is often closely related to the landscape. Wide and broad, forests, lakes and tundra. And just like many other Scandinavian countries they have a long history of using natural materials, especially wood in very sophisticated ways. Although it's a small populated country, they have a rich design tradition and some famous designers like Alver Aalto and (American-Finnish) Eero Saarinen have made their mark on design history.
